New Delhi: A Support Group meeting for Breast Cancer Survivors was held on 13 January at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Prof. Sushma Bhatnagar, Head of Palliative Care, IRCH, AIIMS interacted with the patients and addressed the issues of the Survivors. She reiterated the importance of exercise, diet and follow ups and cheered the patients by joining them in singing post session.



Mumbai: The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon encourages a spirit of running while creating a platform for Corporate NGOs and individuals to support social cause. For CPAA it is a time to connect with a large number of people at a time who pledge to support the cause. More than 100 individuals supported CPAA's participation in the Marathon held on 18th January 2015. Actress Tara Sharma was CPAA's star runner and Mr K V S Manian, was the Highest Individual Corporate Fundraiser. Kotak Mahindra Bank and The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited also supported CPAA in the Corporate Challenge.

Mumbai: CPAA organised a Drawing Competition on 26th January for children, including some childhood cancer patients on occasion of Republic Day. 35 schools participated in this event held in association with and at the Brihan Mumbai Krida Aani Lalitkala Prathistan, Andheri, Mumbai. Actress Sunny Leone and Singer Shibani Kashyap cheered the children on as the Chief Guests.

New Delhi: Cancer screening camps were held on 29 January at Sangam Vihar for 45 women followed by a counseling session on breast and cervix cancer; on 19 February at Air Force Station, Rajokri for wives of Air Force Officers in association with Medanta Hospital and its mobile mammogram unit. This was followed up by an awareness talk on breast and cervix cancer for the Air Force Wives Welfare Association by Medanta's breast cancer specialist Dr Kanchan Kaur.

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police invited CPAA's childhood cancer patients to their newly launched Traffic Training Park in Connaught Place on 30 January. Children were given lessons on road safety through innovative methods, especially rules to ride bikes on the road. The zonal ACP and SHO were present on the occasion and interacted with the patients and distributed gifts and snacks to all the participants. The event was sponsored by Highway Travels.

Pune: Cancer Survivors were invited to a World Cancer Day program on 4 February at the Phoenix Mall. Dr. Bhushan Zade counseled them on how to tackle day to day problems that cancer patient and their family members face. The talk was followed by games, prizes, high tea and gifts for all.

New Delhi: Childhood cancer patients were treated to a fun filled day at National Bal Bhavan on 12 February on the occasion of World Cancer Day. This Fun day was organised under the aegis of CPAA-GCF Project. Children enjoyed the dance and music workshop whilst their attendants were given a guided tour of the museum in the same premises. The children were also taken for a mini train ride followed by lunch and goody bags.

Mumbai: CPAA's Social Worker Halima Aurangabadkar participated in the 22nd conference of IAPC at Hyderabad from 13 - 15 February. She presented a poster based on her study of the Needs and Concerns of Palliative Care Patients' which she did along with Dr. Veena Shukla Mishra and Mallika Narayanan from CPAA.



New Delhi : A Public Lecture and Exhibition was organised by the Department of Pediatric Oncology, AIIMS in the Jawaharlal Auditorium on 14 February. There was a panel discussion on childhood cancer by the experts. CPAA was invited to be a part of this event and give information about the activities that they do for childhood cancer patients.


Mumbai: Popular TV News channel Mi Marathi invited Neeta More (Executive Director, CPAA) on their panel to speak about Oral Cancer and the ill-effects of tobacco at their Live Talk Show on 17 February.
