Mumbai: The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis welcomed our childhood cancer patients to 'Varsha', for his birthday celebration on 21 July. The children presented him with specially created greeting cards and spent an enjoyable morning with him.

Mumbai: Actress, Neetu Chandraa celebrated her birthday with childhood cancer patients at B J Wadia Hospital, Mumbai on 21 July.

 New Delhi: A weekly Yoga Workshop was initiated by CPAA on 22 July at Rajghariya Dharamshala (AIIMS). Professional yoga teacher Shakti will conduct this workshop for about 50 patients with their families. The workshop aims to help the patients and care-givers in de-stressing whilst going through the rigours of cancer treatment.

Pune: Hard Rock Cafe hosted a entertaining evening for patients as a part of the 'Make a Cancer Patient Smile' program, on 25 July. The guest were treated to an evening of participative games by the emcee as well as the staff of the cafe. High tea and snacks were served thereafter.

Pune: Cancer Screening Camps were held at the Hadapsar Bus Depot for their drivers, conductors and workshop staff on 27 July and at the Vanaz Pariwar School, Kothrud for parents of the students and the school staff. A breast cancer screening camp was organised for female teachers and housekeeping staff of the Bishop's School, Undri by Dr. Shekhar Kulkarni's medical team on 10 August.

Mumbai: The 15th year celebration of Ghazal Khazana, themed 'Celebrations and Nostalgia' was set in the dramatic interiors of the Regal Room of the Oberoi Hotels & Resorts Mumbai on 29 and 30 July. Some of the most talented Ghazal singers of the country came together to perform on a single stage for a noble cause for this annual fundraiser. On this unique platform, the harmony of music makes a life-changing impact on the lives of several patients affected by cancer and thalassemia, due to the joint efforts of Mrs Rekha Sapru of Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) and Mr Pankaj Udhas of Parents' Association Thalassemic Unit Trust. This was a rare opportunity for Ghazal aficionados to experience the rich and vibrant performances of a galaxy of artists like Bhupinder Singh and Mitali Singh, Anup Jalota, Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz, Suresh Wadkar, Rekha Bharadwaj, Ahmed Hussain and Mohammed Hussain, Anuradha Paudwal, Penaz Masani, Rajkumar Rizvi, Neha Rizvi and Runa Rizvi Sivamani, Sudeep Banerjee, Sraboni Chaudhuri, Amrita Chatterjee, Pooja Gaitonde, Alap Desai, Sumeet Tappoo and Kavita Paudwal. The concert commenced with a superbly orchestrated medley which culminated into a joint rendition of the specially penned nazm, Phir aapki mehfil mein ghazalon ka khazana hai... The surprise performance of famed percussionist Sivamani along-with his wife Runa Rizvi Sivamani was appreciated by one and all. New Delhi: Childhood cancer patients in the Pediatric Ward of AIIMS, New Delhi enjoyed the various activities organised for them on the occasion of Independence Day. They created beautiful depictions of the Indian flag and sang patriotic songs. They were treated with delicious refreshments and lovely gifts.

Mumbai: CPAA's Diagnostic Team of Mumbai was invited to conduct a Cancer Screening camp at the Suratgarh Military Station (FWO 170 INF BDE) in the Sriganganagar District of Rajasthan for the families of the Army personnel. The two-day camp on 15 and 16 August, was a part of the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd's CSR initiatives on the occasion of Independence Day. The camp was inaugurated at by Poonam Kanwar, Chairperson Family Welfare Organization under the esteemed presence of Col. A.O. Fernandes (Commandant), Maj. Sanket Chauhan and Ms. Neeta More, Executive Director - Diagnostic Services of CPAA, Mumbai. CPAA's medical team consisting of Physicians, Surgeons, Pathologists, volunteers and counselors screened 572 people in two days. The check-up was followed by basic cancer awareness and counseling. Raksha Bandhan, a festival that honours the sweet bond between brothers and sisters was celebrated in the Pediatric Wards of AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi on 17 August and Sion Hospital, Mumbai on 19 August. The children made and tied each other creative and colourful rakhis and exchanged gifts and sweets. The doctors, nurses and volunteers too joined in the festivities.

Mumbai: A Cancer Screening Camp was organised for Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) on 21 August at Andheri supported by Oberoi One foundation for Social welfare. It was a collective effort by CPAA's Diagnostic Team, Vivek Oberoi, S L Raheja Fortis Hospital, Terna Dental College, Sushant Sigh, Amit Behl and Sanjay Bhatiya (members of CINTAA). more pictures >>

Mumbai: From an successful shipping tycoon to an avid art collector to a budding artist creating art on an unconventional canvas of his Samsung Galaxy Note Series and stylus, Mr Dilip De's life has indeed come a full circle. His first solo exhibition entitled 'Celebration of Love' showcased twenty-four prints consisting of portrayals of various moods of people and the relationship between Man and Woman. He has generously donated the entire proceeds from the sale of these limited edition prints to Cancer Patients Aid Association. The show was inaugurated by Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Mrs Jaya Bachchan at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai on 16 August.
