Art exhibition and sale by senior and contemporary artists

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) in association with Cymroza Art Gallery present their sixth Annual Art Exhibition 'Colours of Life'.

This year’s collection includes 157 Indian artists. The range of work covers a wide spectrum of interpretations and utilizes various mediums. Curator, Piali Syam has carefully selected a number of outstanding pieces to cater to a wide audience of art lovers and range of budgets. The theme for this year's exhibition is Reach for Art - Reach for a cause. “The exhibition allows art lovers to contribute to the cause as well as take home a masterpiece." says Piali.

This collection mostly focuses on contemporary Indian art. The artists come from all around India, from the major cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Baroda to the interior regions of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Bengal. The regional differences within our vast country are reflected in the diversity of the themes expressed. The selected works represent a collage of various media and artistic practices. By bringing together these diverse styles, this exhibition stands in contrast to previous shows that have mostly emphasised on works by more familiar Indian artists.

Every year over 14,000 children are affected by cancer in India. The diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancers takes time and money. Thanks to new developments in treatment, upto 70% of all childhood cancers are curable if treated in a timely manner. However, many families do not have access to effective treatment due to the high associated costs. The exhibition gives art lovers an opportunity to reach out to patients and help them conquer the disease.

Like every year, this year too, the event was co-hosted by Ms Pheroza Godrej and Mrs Bakhtawar Shroff from the Cymroza Art Gallery. Without their unstinted support in the last 5 years, ‘Colours of Life’ would have never arrived at a stage where artists and collectors both look forward to the show.

Mr. Y. K. Sapru (Founder Chairman & CEO, CPAA) has launched a ‘Childrens’ Education Fund’. The fund will support the education of childhood cancer patients, yet another step towards CPAA’s mission of ‘Total Management of Cancer’.
